IIT-Bhubaneswar has offered its hand to the help the JEE Advanced candidates giving their exam in Odisha in wake of Cyclone Fani.

It has established a help desk for the candidates in its campus on May 8th. The help desk will operate from the e-classroom and Lab Complex (LBC) in the permanent campus of IIT.

The initiative by IIT-Bhubaneswar has been taken due to lack of mobile internet, network facilities after huge cyclonic waves hit the entire Odisha state in the first week of May. “IIT Bhubaneswar could restore all facilities including internet and and have established a special desk, said Director, R.V Raja Kumar, IIT Bhubaneswar.

“We are also running a special bus service from the city to the campus for facilitating transportation of the candidates. At this difficult hour of crisis that the state is going through, we at IIt Bhubaneswar are committed to standby and extend all possible support from our end as assured by the minster,” he added further.

The candidates from Odisha, who have qualified for JEE Advanced 2019 and are lagging an internet connection can avail the facility of registration from the help desk from IIT-Bhubaneswar.

Prakash Javedkar on May 7th announced the extension of registration date till 14th May for JEE Advanced Odisha candidates due to the cyclone hit after Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged HRD Ministry to do so. The previous last registration date was scheduled for My 9th.

The JEE Advanced 2019 examination is going to be held on May 27, 2019 in all regions including Odisha. The exam will be held in two shifts- (Paper 1) 9:00 am-12:00 pm and (Paper 2) 2:00 pm-5:00 pm.
