Kalraj Mishra, who is the Rajasthan Governor  has asked the state universities that after the flag hosting is done on the Indpendence Day, they must carry out plantation of saplings in their campuses.

According to a statement on Wednesday, it has been stated that for plantation drive, a total of 88,151 saplings have been given to the universities.

In view of the coronavirus pandemic, Mr Mishra has also asked the Vice-Chancellors of the state universities to ensure compliance of social distancing norms and other protocols . According to the statement, to look after the saplings, the governor has directed the VCs to set up committees in their universities. He also said that just planting the saplings would not be sufficient, proper care also needs to be taken.

1500 saplings will be planted by each, the University of Rajasthan in Jaipur and Mohanlal Sukhadia University in Udaipur. Adding on to the more information it has also been said that similarly, other universities too will plant the saplings allotted to them by the Raj Bhawan.
