Many Indian students studying in abroad universities is set be graduated this year. Due to the novel Corona virus pandemic, universities couldn’t conduct a hefty graduation ceremony. To lift the students from their disappointments, the student association planned to have a virtual ceremony inviting all the near and dear ones on Friday.

The India’s ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, addressed the students with his delightful speech. He said “These unprecedented times are also times of unprecedented opportunities. Innovation is a part of the journey ahead and you will be the pioneers who shape the world”.

By conveying this he also added to the note that this ceremony was arranged by the Embassy of India student Hub to recognize the students who have shown great interests in their academics. Many prominent peoples like singer and entrepreneur Lalitya Munshaw, IPS officer and mountaineer Aparna Kumar, tabla maestro Pt Divyang Vakil, former director of AIIMS P Venugopal, and Mahatma’s granddaughter and peace activist Ela Gandhi gave their hearty wishes to the students celebrating their graduation ceremony.

Mr. Sandhu said that the Class of 2020 wouldn’t able to experience a normal ceremony as other batches did. He also wished the students the best as he sees them as the future of the world.

Many students were depressed and agonized that their dream of stading on the dais and receiving the graduation certificate in their dream university has been vanquished. However they were quite happy as they were atleast able to attend a virtual graduation ceremony with their loved ones despite the pandemic.

Parents too conveyed their wishes and gave all the students their blessings and thoughtful advices. They want them to be good and productive for the society. Embassy of India Student Hub volunteer Sunakshi Chowdhary reported that they arranged this ceremony to cheer the minds of the students which will be like a gift to them in this situation.
