Jamia Millia Islamia has come up with an international academic collaboration with Flagler College of Florida, USA.

On Thursday, April 18, Prof. John D.Young Kenan, distinguished professor of Liberal Education and History invited Prof. Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia, to explore possibilities of developing collaborative partnership that would set up an enthusiastic international setting for American students from Florida.

The motive of the joint partnership is to strengthen both colleges’ engagement with diversity, citizenry and democracy, as shared by Prof. John. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Mukesh Ranjan, Director International Relations, who co-ordinated the visit on behalf of the institution.

Prof. Nazma Akhtar, on welcoming the visitor reminisced her past experiences that involved forging collaborations and promoting internationalisation of Indian education in respect of students, faculty and educational administrators. She also expressed her desire to develop sustainable collaborations with foreign educational institutions through MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding), that will not only benchmark JMI’s teaching and research process but would also catalyse the university through assimilation of best international practices.

Jamia Millia Islamia has the entire wherewithal to showcase India’s strengths best represented through Unity in Diversity,” added VC, Najma Akhtar.
