On July 18, registrations for first-year BA Hons have begun at the Jawaharlal Nehru University’s (JNU). The Convention Centre of the university was crowded by freshers along with their parents to enroll themselves for various facilities offered by the varsity including hostels and health cards. This process is scheduled to continue till July 20 and will again be re-instated from July 28 and will finally have closure on July 31.

M Jagadesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the university, reassured, “It has been ensured that all the girls, SC, ST and PwD (Persons with Disabilities) students are given hostel accommodation on the day of joining the university, besides keeping the registration process of various courses under one roof, unlike in the past.”

July 21, 24, 25 have been scheduled for the registration of MA, MSc and MCA courses and will again be held between July 28 and August 1. Registeration process for PhD students will be conducted between July 18 and July 20. “JNU will continue to attract the best students because of the quality of education provided here,” graced Kumar. Addressing the students and their parents, the VC, officials from the administration and members of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) introduced the college and its working to them.

The VC expressed, “I could see the happiness in their eyes for getting admission in JNU.” To aid the freshers with the registrations, various students’ organisations, including JNUSU came forward to provide assistance.
