DAIC and JU signs MoU to facilitate research projects for sustainable development

Dr. Ambedkar International Centre under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and Jawaharlal Nehru University on Friday signed an MoU to facilitate and enhance research activities and policy formulation aimed at Socio-economic Transformation and Sustainable Development.

The MoU was signed by JNU vice-chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar and Director of DAIC, Atul Dev Sarmah. Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Thaawarchand Gehlot was also present at the event in New Delhi.

Later, Mr Gehlot said, “the major thrust areas under the MoU are aimed at research and related activity on all areas related to socio-economic transformation.

He also said the University and the Ambedkar International Centre will jointly conduct studies on Dr. Ambedkar, studies on peace, progress and transformational aspects of Buddhism and sustainable development and livelihood.
A statement issued by ministry said, “The MoU will facilitate and enhance research activities and policy formulation aimed at socio-economic transformation and sustainable development. The two organisations resolved to cooperate within the scope of their mandates and sphere of competencies to work for these issues”,.

“The parties recognised the benefits to be derived from increased collaboration, cooperation and interaction for the further promotion and understanding of high performance in research training and organising various programmes including conferences, seminars, symposia and lecture series”, it added.

DAIC is a  tate-of-the-art center located in New Delhi for quality research in socio-economic transformation while JNU is bestowed as the ‘University of Excellence’ by the UGC. The university is a world-renowned center for teaching and research, having collaborations and MoUs with universities across the world in research projects, conferences, and publications.
