The Jawaharlal Nehru University has finally decided and started conducting mid-semester exams digitally. The JNU vice-chancellor tweeted on Twitter and said congratulations the varsity for the same. Till May 4, all the exams would be over.

The VC wrote on his personal handle of Twitter that there’s a long way to go. In order to complete the academic requirements on proper time for the MSc and MPhil/PhD degrees, the School of Environmental Sciences, from today till May 4, 2020 JNU has started the mid-semester exams with the help of digital platform.

Due to the current situation of the outbreak, the academic sessions of the varsity are expected to remain. Since March 16, all of the classes across India have been closed to stop the spread of coronavirus. With the help of online platform, most of the colleges and universities are conducting their classes for students. Earlier, the varsity had also held workshops on digital platform to train the teachers in learning and teaching.

As per one of the reports that was submitted to the vice-chancellor earlier had some of the guidelines which suggested that the summer vacations should be cancelled and due to lack of internet connection the students who would not be able to give examinations should be allowed to submit their assignments with grace period. However, there is no clarity on the extensions being provided yet.

As said earlier, it also suggested that all the students who are pursuing MPhil and PhD should be some kind of relaxations in submitting their thesis which would be based on the guidelines of the UGC.
