Last year, Karnataka engineering students those who had got a job in campus placement have now joined the companies amid this pandemic. With the world moving towards pandemic triggered economic crisis, final year students have either joined the companies or have received joining date letters from the respective companies.

The joining comes way before they appear for the final year exams. As per UGC guidelines in September 2020, the final year examinations would be conducted for the candidates.

Last year, in July, the campus placement process started and virtually in some of the colleges the placement is still going on. Before they can join new employees, many India headquartered multinationals are waiting for results of the final-semester examinations .

On August 24, the final semester exams for Visveravaraya Technological University will start.  BMS College of Engineering has stated that the companies have hired the students with a caveat that they successfully complete the entire course.

Meanwhile, there are many freshers who have already joined or have the job offer letter are relieved that they have a job before they have completed the final year exams, but there are many who are upset that they miss the office experience in their first job given the work-from-home rider.

While talking to the TOI, Rohan Sanghvi, who is RCVE student and is currently working with Walmart Labs stated that, “During the time he was doing internship, he had a taste of office life- networking, playing table tennis and going to the pantry.
