UGC To Introduce National Academic Credit Bank (NAC-Bank) Of Students

The All India Council of Technical Education has approved to begin the classes from July 1. As per the latest circular released by the governing body, the new academic session for these institutes for newly admitted students will begin from August 1. After the  University Grants Commission, now the AICTE has released its academic calendar and different guidelines which needs to be followed by AICTE-approved colleges as well as a standalone postgraduate diploma in management (PGDM).

The AICTE informed that open and distance mode candidates can be admitted from August 15. Due to the lockdown,  in case the result of the undergraduate course could not be declared, the colleges have been asked to enroll students on a provisional basis . In these cases, students will have to show a successful completion certificate by December 31, 2020.

The AICTE had said that the institute can opt for an online mode of education to start new semesters if the situation does not normalise till July.

In addition to this, the AICTE has also asked institutes to not increase their fees for the academic year 2020-21. Due to lockdown earlier, several parents had asked not to hike fee for this year citing pay cut or reduction in salary.

AICTE asked institutes to promote them based on UGC guidelines for all the students whose exams could not be conducted due to the lockdown. The UGC had advised to promote rest based on internal assessments  and to have exams only for the final or last semester. The UGC guidelines had also added that if the situation remains normal, exams can be held in July. As per the UGC calendar, the new admissions will start from September 1 and classes for the ongoing batches will open from August.
