Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has requested the Medical Council of India (MCI) to extend the PG medical courses’ registration date for admission. The extension of the date has been requested till May 31st from the existing date May 18th.
The extension is being done so as to fill the remaining PG medical seats as the Ministry received several representations from Institutions and State Governments for extending the last date.
“The Health Ministry has thus requested the Board of Governors (BoGs), MCI to examine the matter and make suitable recommendations. The BoG is meeting today to consider the matter,” the statement from the Ministry said.
The admission process for undergraduate medical admission in the country will start after the results of National Entrance-cum-Eligibility Test (NEET). The NEET exam was held on May 5th and May 20th. The results are expected in June 1st week.
