The State government of Madhya Pradesh has issued a set of guidelines along with a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for phased reopening of all government and private schools.

Madhya Pradesh government a few days ago announced to reopen schools in a phased manner for higher classes. This decision of reopening was taken as the state has seen a significant decline in COVID-19 cases.

As per the SOP released, the offline classes for students of Class 11 and 12 will begin from July 26 with 50 percent attendance. However, The classes will be held only twice in a week for this students.

Whereas, the physical classes for students of Class 9 and 10 will commence from August 5 but they will be held only once a week. Although online classes will be also be continued simultaneously.

The schools will remain open only for 4 days per week. Out of which, classes for 11th standard students will be on Tuesdays and Fridays, while for 12th standard students will be on Mondays and Thursdays.

While for rest of the 2 days, the classes of 9th standard students will be held only on  Saturdays. Similarly the students of 10th standard will attend their physical classes only on wednesdays.

Other instructions mentioned in the guidelines states that large gathering like morning assemblies and swimming lessons must not be conducted to avoid the spread of viral infection.

The state government has also advised the schools to undergo forced testing for COVID-19 infection in teachers, students and staff members as an precautionary measure if possible.

Mr. Iqbal Singh Bains, the Chief Secretary of MP government, has ordered all district collectors along with chief health and medical officers to ensure the vaccination of all teachers in schools and colleges.

For this, Vaccination campaign are being organised from July 26 to July 30 each day between 9 AM to 5 PM at the dedicated vaccination facilities made in district centres and block offices.
