Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi inaugurating

Union Minister of Ministry Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said on Saturday that ‘Educational Empowerment’ will stop ‘Political Exploitation’ of minorities and ‘development without discrimination’ is the priority of Modi’s Government.

Naqvi inaugurated school building, library, laboratory facility etc. at Dr. M.I.J. Girls High School and Junior College in Mumbai’s Bandra suburban area. This school is run by ‘Anjuman A Islam’. He said that in the last three-four years, more than 3.11 crore students of minority communities have been provided scholarships. There is about 60 percent of these girls.

He said, “This year the National Scholarship Portal Mobile App (NSP Mobile App) has been launched which will provide an accessible and hassle-free scholarship system for poor and weaker sections.”

He added that Scholarships have been given directly into bank accounts of the students through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) mode in a transparent manner free from middlemen.

He also stressed that Modi’s Government efforts for educational empowerment for minorities and weaker sections have shown results.

“The drop-out among Muslim girls, which was as high as 70 percent, has been reduced to 35-40 percent due to awareness and educational empowerment programmes of the government. Our Government is working with a mission to bring it down to zero percent in the coming years,” He said.

Mr. Naqvi said that Ministry of Minority Affairs has worked with commitment to ‘3E- Education, Employment, Empowerment’.
