The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is organizing the grand finale of ‘Smart India Hackathon 2019’ scheduled to be held on March 2 and 3, 2019. It has been reported that the event will be inaugurated by Union Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar through a video conference. It has also been reported that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be addressing the event through a live session.

The ‘Smart India Hackathon’ is a competition which was initiated by the HRD Ministry (MHRD) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The event will witness the participation of one lakh technical students, 3000 technical institutions and more than 200 organizations, resulting in the conduction of the world’s biggest Software and Hardware Hackathon.

In order to win the world’s biggest Software hackathon, the participants will be required to solve seven problem statements which will be related to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Machine Learning (ML). It has been recorded that over 28 teams will be participating which will constitute of 196 students from different regions of the country.

The competition will be adjudged by 8 people who acquire academic and industrial experience for evaluation of students competing in three rounds.

The previous version of Hackathon witnessed 5 million students who belong to various engineering colleges all across the country. This year, the few regulations during the competition include identifying solutions to challenges which are faced by private organizations, which will not only help a private organization solve important issues but also will help them hire the best young minds.
