The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) developed E-Pathshala that won the award of the Best Mobile App, that comes under ‘Digital India Award’, on Friday, February 22, 2019. The award felicitated by Union Minister for Law and Justice, Electronics and IT, Dr. Ravi Shankar Prasad at Stein Auditorium, Indian Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The Award was received by f Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT.

Addressing the event, Dr. Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “National Informatics Centre should work towards the use of technology for improving Indian agriculture scene, standardize primary education by equipping government schools with technological tools, health care with low-cost technology.”

The organization received condolences by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

The E-Pathshala App was established to impart the study material online accessible anywhere for children’s convenience. The material included textbooks, audio, video, periodicals, and other online resources.

Its features include pinch, select, zoom, bookmark, highlight, navigate, share, listen to text using text to speech (TTS) apps and helps to generate notes digitally.

Digital India Awards has been conducted four times so far in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016. This was the fifth time that it got conducted.

So far it has appreciated various government department and awarded them for their services, also, it has been noticed that various categories have been established in accordance with the new trends in the field of technology.
