The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced NEET-UG 2017 result yesterday. After much adieu and many controversies, the result has been quenching for lakhs of ailed anxious students.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) was conducted on May 7 for admission into approximately 65,170 seats of MBBS and nearly 25,730 BDS courses. According to the information available on MCI & DCI websites, about 470 medical colleges and 308 Dental colleges will take part in the official admission process.

Of the qualified applicants, 2,66,221 are male, 3,45,313 are female and 5 are transgenders.

CBSE NEET-UG 2017 Results: Cut-off

The candidates’ details, who qualified on the basis of the minimum qualifying criteria of NEET-UG 2017, are as follows:

  • A total of 5,43,473 candidates from general category qualified. Their cut-off was 131 marks. The range of marks in this category went from 131 marks to 697 marks. To qualify, a candidate from the category must touch the benchmark of 50 percentile.
  • Qualified aspirants from OBC category are  47,382, from SC category are 14,599, from ST category are 6,018, from UR & PH category 67, from OBC & PH are 152, from SC & PH are 38 and from ST & PH are 10.
  • The OBC, SC, ST, OBC & PH, SC & PH and ST & PH categories had 107 marks and percentile 40 as cut-off. The range of marks from applicants here goes from 107 to 130. For UR & PH, the cut-off is 118 marks and qualifying percentile is 45.

CBSE NEET-UG 2017 Rank Holders

A young blood from Punjab, Navdeep Singh, has secured All India Rank I with 697 marks and 99.999908  percentile. He is followed by Archit Gupta at AIR II with 695 marks and 99.999725 percentile and to secure AIR III is Manish Mulchandani Male. Both AIR II and AIR III are from Madhya Pradesh.

The Next Step for Qualifiers- Counselling

The qualified aspirants are now supposed to complete further formalities with counselling authorities viz Director General of Medical Services, Medical Education Directorate of States etc. for admission to MBBS/BDS courses. According to the information available on Medical Council of India & Dental Council of India websites, about 470 medical colleges and 308 Dental colleges will take part in the official admission process.
