After much delay and being postponed multiple times, National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET) is finally declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday morning. This action followed the recent order by the Supreme Court to make the move.

Punjab’s Navdeep Singh has scored the AIR 1 rank this year with a total score of 697 marks.

To check the result, applicants can go to http://cbseresults.nic.in/neet17rpx/neetJ17.htm or cbseneet.nic.in.

The delay in the results had caused worry to students who wished to pursue medicine across the country, as they feared they might be out of other options.

After much controversy and the recent attack by the twitterazzi, it was high time for the result to come out in broad daylight.

Those who have cleared the NEET 2017, are eligible to get admission 15 per cent all India quota seats in the government medical and dental colleges and Union Territories.

CBSE will also provide NEET rank letters format through DigiLocker at digilocker.gov.in. NEET-2017 result will also be available on “Digilocker” website at results.digilocker.gov.in, a CBSE initiative in collaboration with DigiLocker. This is a mobile friendly website and can be viewed on mobile.

Earlier, Madras HC had put a stay on the announcement of result given that a petition was filed for the move due to selective vernacular difficulty. This stay was lifted by the Supreme Court last week giving CBSE the order to release the result by June 26.

The order came on the plea by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and others challenging the May 24 order of the Madras High Court which had restrained the Board from publishing the results of NEET examination 2017 in which around 12 lakh aspirants had appeared.
