The Consortium of National Law Universities has announced new dates for the Common Law Entrance Test (CLAT) 2021. The exam will be held on Friday, 23rd of July 2021. Duration for the exam will be 2 hours and will be conducted between 2 PM to 4 PM for both postgraduate and undergraduate courses on the same day.

The exam will be conducted offline by conventional pen-and-paper mode. Although all safety precautions and protocols against COVID-19 infection will be followed at all examination centres. Students are also advised to get vaccinated before appearing in exams to ensure wellbeing of themselvesĀ  as well as fellow students present at the centre.

The NLUs Consortium also released an official notification dated June 14 regarding this announcement. According to this notification, the decision on final dates for conduct of this exam was made in a meeting of the General Body of Consortium held on June 12 after immense consideration over the situations of pandemic in our country.

The notice further mentioned that the descriptive section has been removed from CLAT 2021 for appearing Candidates of postgraduate LLM programme. The examination for this candidates will only include 120 MCQ questions. The time provided for solving this questions will be 120 minutes similar to the rest of CLAT exams.

The applicants will also be given a chance to change their preferences of exam centres. This is done in order to avoid longer travelling by students and any exposure to the viral infection. This process will begin after the last date for submission of application forms. The consortium will try to allot centres of first and second preference to applicants.

The Consortium will soon release further details regarding the changes in exam centres and Health safety protocols. Thus students are advised to keep a regular check on the official website.
