The National Testing Agency (NTA) is going to offer an additional chance for appearing in JEE Mains Exam to those candidates who were unable to reach the exam centres on schedule due to heavy rains.

The Union Education Minister, Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan announced that the students who missed their exam on 25th and 27th July for third session of JEE (Mains) 2021 are eligible for this extra chance.

In the past few days, several areas of Maharashtra has experienced heavy rainfall and thunderstorms which has led to situations like landslides, electricity outage and blockage of roads and rail lines.

Such unfavourable conditions made it difficult for the students to reach exam centres on the scheduled time and date. Thus, The NTA has made this provision as per the suggestions of Mr. Pradhan.

The education minister has also noted that students who mostly missed the exam are from highly affected regions of Kolhapur, Palghar, Ratnagiri, Raigadh, Sindhudurg, Sangli, & Satara in maharashtra.

The NTA will soon announce a separate schedule of exams for such students on its official website. This exams are mostly likely to be held after the end of fourth session of JEE Mains 2021.

Students are advised to keep a regular check on the official websites, http://nta.ac.in and http://jeemain.nta.nic.in for any further updates regarding the exam.

Any new announcements will also be made available on the official social media handles and websites of education ministry. No student will be contacted on personal basis on the behalf of NTA.

It must be noted that the third (April) session of JEE Mains 2021 is currently underway. Three phases of this session are already held on July 20, 22 and 25 while the last one is to be held on July 27.

The fourth or last (May) session of this engineering entrance exam is scheduled to be conducted between the last week of August and first week of September.
