Due to the unfavorable conditions of prevailing corona virus infection and state-wise lockdown in the country, The National Council of Educational research and training (NCERT) has announced to postpone the Stage two of National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) 2021.

Earlier, the stage 2 exam was scheduled for June 13. The new tentative dates are not released yet and will be announced later by the council once the situations becomes under control and safer for everyone. The official notice is released on the website of NCERT, ncert.nic.in.

This year, more then 7500 students have qualified in the NTSE Stage one exam held in december and are eligible to appear in stage two which was firstly supposed to be held on February 7, 2021 but then was delayed to February 14. But as the infection rate of corona virus took a hike in the month of February, the exam was again postponed to June 13. Thus, the exam has been pushed thrice till now.

The official notice released by the NCERT reads, “Due to prevailing situation of COVID-19 in the Country and the enforced lockdown in different States/UTs, it is decided to postpone the NTSE stage –II exam which was scheduled to be held on 13th June 2021.”

The NCERT further added in the notice that “The new date for the NTSE stage-2 examination will be updated through NCERT website after the situations normalize in the country and is conducive for the conduct of the NTSE stage-2 examination”.

The back to back deferment of exam dates have been creating pressure over the appearing candidates as well as their mentors. Although the students are getting more time for better preparation but they also has to keep up with there schooling and studies of next class. Further postponement of exam could also result in cancellation.

The NTSE exam is held every year for class 10 appearing and qualified students for the eligibility of receiving Monthly National Scholarship for further schooling, higher education and research work.
