The Government of Uttar Pradesh has directed all the schools and colleges of the state to conduct online classes for its students from May 20, 2021.This is ensure that there is no loss of academic hours in the new session and the respective syllabus can be completed in mean time.

The schools and colleges of the state are shut since the Last week of March due to the worsening pandemic situation and strict lockdown imposed in the state. The UP government also terminated the online classes till May 15.

But it seems that there is no scope for reopening of educational institutes in upcoming months and physical classes will remain suspended untill situations normalise. Hence, it is necessary to resume online education so that there is no loss of studies.

Although, the online classes will not be conducted for primary standards from May 20. The authorities will review the situations and then will decide the dates for primary classes. In the mean time, online sessions for rest of the classes will be continued as planned.

According to the UP Government Officials, several educational institutes highlighted that students are facing issues to cope up with their academics without any proper guidance due to the suspension of classes. Thus, the main reason to resume online education is to ensure the academic continuity of students is not disturbed.

According to the Deputy Chief Minister of UP, Mr. Dinesh Sharma, the state is considering to conduct the pending Class 10 and class 12 board exams soon. Although a final decision on conduction or cancellation of exams will be announced after May 20 after brief discussion with respective authorities and honourable Chief minister.

It is to mention that that the UP board exams for class 10 and 12 are already postponed once for about a month and since the state is under lockdown till 24th may, the government may come up with a decision very soon.
