This is the age of technology. There is no area technology has left in solace. About every sector has revolutionized with its incoming and now, in India, it’s time for education sector. The statistics according to Google and KPMG show that online education will become a USD 2 billion industry in India by 2021.

With the Digital Literacy Mission Scheme devised by the current Prime Minister of India to spread e-Literacy in rural India, more and more citizens are getting connected to the internet. The user-based growth is projected to fold 6 times in the next 4 years. This boosts online education trends in India leading to the rapid growth of the industry.

With the increase in usage of internet, search trends show that YouTube’s education content consumption has increased four times since last year. Report also reveals that online searches for education have increased two times.

Re-skilling and online certification are currently the largest segments of online education. However, the primary, secondary and higher-secondary categories have the largest addressable audience. The industry has a large potential and will be empowered more when the government’s optimum fibre reaches more parts of the country.
