On 25th July 2018, President Ram Nath Kovind visited the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram School at Heeranar village in Dantewada district (Chhattisgarh). The President interacted with the students and encouraged them to set big goals and aim bigger and to strive hard for it. In an interaction with the kids, the president said, “Each and every person should dream of achieving success in life and make efforts with determination to fulfil it.”
The aim of this meeting was to encourage and the students to “aim high, set big goals in life and work hard to achieve it.” Moreover, the President interacted with the student one on one and asked few general knowledge questions to which they answered right. – PTI. He further enquired about the facilities being provided by the ashram which included the hostel and the use of premises by the students.
The President and students had lunch together and the food was served in “dona” and “pattal” (traditional bowls and plates made of dried leaves of sal and banyan trees). The President offered sweets to the children which he had brought from the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
After arriving in Heeranar, The President interacted with the farmers association with regards to integrated farming system centre in the village. Further, he also took a short re- rickshaw ride was driven by a woman, identified as Phoolmati Bhaskar of Dantewada.
After visiting the Ashram School, the President along with his wife Savita Kovind visited the famous Maa Danteshwari temple in Dantewada and offered prayers accompanied by the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Raman Singh and School Education Minister Kedar Kashyap.
