It has been announced by the Savitribai Phule Pune University, SPPU administration that final year exams are postponed. From from October  5, 2020 the exams of the final year students were to be conducted, but the time table was not released. With the announcement of the exam getting postponed now it would be held from October 12, 2020.

Due to numerous reasons, the exams have been delayed. The reasons addressed are a strike of non-teaching staff, exam dates clashing with other competitive exams. One of the main reason put forward is delay in appointment of the agency which shall be held responsible working on exam conducting programme. From October 1, examinations for backlog students, were supposed to start but that has also been postponed.

Mahesh Kakade, informed director of SPPU’s board of examination and evaluation “ During the same period there are several other exams scheduled like UPSC, MPSC and NET and for such examination many final year students have applied . Hence, to October 12 the exam has been postponed”.

In an hours duration the exam shall be connected, SPPU Exam is a 50 marks papers with multiple choice questions, MCQs. Till now, for around 3,300 subjects SPPU faculties had prepared question paper. According to the previous schedule of varsity, by September 24 the question paper sets were supposed to be ready, but as of now test sets for all the subjects have no been made.

From different colleges, a total of 3.64 lakh students are affiliated with the varsity out of which there are 2.23 lakh  regular students. Because of the pandemic, this year the varsity has decided to conduct the exams online for the students.
