The Chief Minister of Punjab Amarinder Singh has instructed the Chief Secretary to accommodate the vacancies which were supposed to be filled by the persons with disabilities only in a specific time frame.

This decision was taken after Singh met the specially-abled international level Para-Badminton player Sanjeev Kumar on Thursday.

The CM has also instructed the Social Security Department to identify the vacancies in all departments, in order to initiate the process of the disabled accommodation.

As many as 577 disabled persons have already been provided employment by the state government, the spokesperson said.
