According to the data recorded by the QS World Ranking, It has been found that Six Indian Institutes have been ranked among the top 300 world universities. It was also found that the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay tops the ranking among the Indian Institutes. Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore was ranked second among Indian Institutes.

The Indian Institute of Bombay jumped 17 ranks this year and secured 162nd rank globally securing the first rank among Indian Institutes after the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi that secured the first rank last year among Indian Institutes. The Indian Institute of Science was observed to have jumped 20 positions, highest among all, securing 190th rank as compared to last year’s 170th. The Indian Institute of Delhi was observed to remain at the same position as last years which was 172nd, and IIT Bombay and IISc jumped at IIT Delhi came at the third position.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur secured the fifth rank among the Indian Institutes securing 283rd position globally. IIT Kharagpur secures the same position as last years of 295th.

The Top Institutes Globally remain the same with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University and Harvard University securing first, second and third rank respectively. It was found that Oxford University secured the fifth rank and replaced the University of Cambridge for the fifth rank.

  • University of Oxford
