Rajasthan CM Govind Dotasara

Rajasthan Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra informed that the Government might approve of adding a chapter in school textbooks on CRPF Personnel martyred in Pulwama Terror Attack.

Dotasra asserted on Sunday that the committee has been instructed to review textbooks and recommended whether a chapter should be added or not.

“We have recommended it to the committee set up to review books and have said that it is the government’s wish that material related to the martyrs of Pulwama along with stories praising them, whether they can be included in the textbook course. The committee will take a decision on it,” said Dotasra.

He added, “if the students are learning about a surgical strike, which was one event, they should also know about personnel killed in the Pulwama attack as five such personnel are from Rajasthan.”

“If a chapter on the martyrs is added, then definitely they will be honored,” said Dotasra.

On February 13, it was reported that government has established two committees who were responsible for reviewing changes made by BJP Govt and analyze whether those changes were made to “fulfill political interests” and to “distort history”.

The Committee who is responsible to review Textbooks of Class 1 to 8, is headed under  I V Trivedi, former vice chancellor of the Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, along with other members including G N Ghasiya, Rajiv Bagaria, and Ashish Vyas.

The Second committee who is responsible for reviewing textbooks from class 9th to 12th was headed under Former chairman of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission BM Sharma with members that included Sunita Pachar, Sohan Lal Meena, and Pavan Bhanwaria.

The Committees are instructed to prepare a report after reviewing textbooks and submit them to the Government.
