From November 25 onwards, the Savitribai Phule Pune University is planning to conduct SPPU Exams 2020 backlog exams. In a proctored manner, for non-final year students online the examination would be conducted by Pune University .
To opt for either online or offline mode for the exam, the varsity will give options to students. Students would also get an option of appearing for the examination from home. Nitin Karmalkar who is the Vice Chancellor while speaking to TOI stated that, “The dates of the exam will be communicated. The university has some 50,000 students who have backlogs and would appear for these examinations.”
The varsity has also decided to allow students who had applied for the class improvement scheme to appear for the exam along with the backlog examinees. For the improvement scheme, a window to apply was opened and about 18-19,000 students sought class improvement. Along with the backlog students, it was then that the varsity decided to give these students a chance too .
The examination will be an MCQ-based examination. Nitin Karmalkar stated that “ For the final-year students, during the examination, we realized that outstation students opted for online examination. Hence, this time, there will be only an online examination. Those who have a problem with the network, or lack gadgets would be given an opportunity to visit the nearest examination center to appear for the exam in the online mode”.
