2019 Pune Admission for EWS students under RTE Act 2009

The parents, who applied for the admission of their ward in Pune schools under RTE act will receive the confirmation message from Thursday onward if their kid rests a seat for the admission. Few of the seats will be filled in the first allotment procedure and the rest of them will be filled in the second allotment phase.

Yesterday April 8th, a lottery ceremony was organised at boy’s school in Azam campus at 11:30 am in Pune. The state education department there had drawn the first lottery for Pune district. The number of EWS students applied under the RTE act were thrice the seats available under the 25% quota scheme. Total of 16,604 seats are available for the students and the applications received were 54,139.

Actually the lottery ceremony was organised because Pune schools received more admission applications than the desired number of seats available.

State Director of primary education Sunil Chauhan stated, “Accross the state there are 9,195 schools eligible for nursery and Std l admissions. Once the lottery is drawn the children’s parents will receive a message on their registered mobile number providing information regarding the allotment of schools. After the lottery is drawn, parents of wards will have to confirm their admission at the school allotted to them. The parents will have to submit all the relevant documents to the school within the stipulated time period.”

He further added, “The time table to be followed by parents for confirmation of admission will also be announced soon.”
