According to a press report by TNAU which states that, A Centre of Excellence in Biology is being set up at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) for promoting biotechnology research in the state. This proposal is a state initiative to create Centres of Excellence in key areas to make Tamil Nadu a national Knowledge hub and a preferred destination for global investors.
The research centre will be a world class infrastructure and development in biotechnology and related areas to strengthen biotechnology research, education, skill development among others. This will be a joint venture between state government, NABARD, TNAU, private industries and philanthropists.
The research centre will act a high quality research by interlinking Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and other academic and research institutes of Tamil Nadu with International collaborations.
