Those Skipping semester Exams Will Lose Their Studentship: JNU Admin

JNUSU protest against the Hostel fee hike has reached the country and beyond. The student Unions from across the country are supporting JNU students by organizing protests. But recently, JNUSU is planning to boycott the semester exams scheduled from December 12. JNU Administration released a circular in which it is stated, ‘those skipping exams will lose their studentship’.

The circular cautioned the JNU students, “The consequences of completing academic assignments and tests, including end-semester examinations as per the relevant rules and regulations. Students not appearing in the examinations will lose their studentship as per JNU academic laws.”

Although the circular further said, “They will be ineligible to register in the next semester and will cease to be bonafide students of the university.” The circular further said, “M.Phil students who fail to acquire 5.00 CGPA at the end of 2nd semester will find their names automatically removed from the university’s roll list.”

Jawaharlal Nehru University Students have been on the strike for over a month. A meeting held by at least 17 centers of the university has supported the call to boycott the semester exams.

Meanwhile, the JNU hostel fees hike has reached IIMC where students are protesting against the increase in the tuition fees, hostel and mess charge. The strike started on Tuesday by the Journalism students.
