Amsterdam-based website ‘Bookings.com’ is to provide scholarship to 12 Indian women students, who are likely to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Education.

The portal has partnered with two highly recognized Indian Institutes. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala will be providing scholarships to its undergraduate female students and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore will provide scholarships to its post-graduate female candidates.

The aim of the collaboration is to provide funding to female students to advance their education in the area of STEM. The selected 12 female candidates from two of the institutes will be provided a scholarship grant of Euro 1.70 k and i.e Rs 1.30 crore in Indian currency.

Ritu Malhotra, Country Manager of Bookings.com at India, Sri Lanka and Maldives stated,” The primary objective of this initiative is to provide women with strong foundation, give them the necessary training, skills development and mentorship at an early stage of their careers to encourage their journey in the technology space.

Booking.com is a travel aggregate website that offers the services of lodging reservations and more. It is majorly headquartered in Amsterdam and is the company is major revenue source of USA for booking holdings.

The company is spread in 228 countries including India and books around 15.50 lakhs rooms per night.
