Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath reported in a statement that, “The High Court banned private tuition by teachers of government, govt-aided and private schools in 2015.”

The Tripura education minister, Ratan Lal Nath gave strict orders to the government school teachers not to engage in private tutoring. He either asked to atop their activities or to lose their jobs. The lockdown restrictions applied to the private coaching centers and other educational institutions. Hence they should abide by it properly.

Previously the government asked the teachers to start ‘neighborhood classes’ and teach them the norms of social distancing. But in a report, Nath told that the teachers are not following the instructions while teaching.

The minister added to the note by stating, “The state government served many notices in the past to restrain private tuitions since 1996. The High Court banned private tuitions by teachers of government, govt-aided and private schools in 2015. We are in favor of the High Court order and don’t intend to allow government teachers to continue giving tuitions. It is objectionable”.

He also told that if any teacher is found to enhance his or her private tutoring instead of focusing their assigned class, they will strictly be punished. Anyways private coaching can be followed for those students aged above 14 yrs and those not belonging to the school they serve.

Any deformation in this would lead to violation of the Right to Education Act. Tripura currently composes of 4,398 government and government-aided schools apart from 335 private schools.
