The National Testing Agency, who is responsible for conducting the National Eligibility Test (NET), has announced the dates for the commencement of the exam. The Exam is scheduled to be conducted in June 2019. Along with the declaration of dates of the exam, the NTA also introduced changes in the exam pattern. It also stated a new syllabus, which is available on the UGC website.

Changes include time duration, earlier the candidates appearing for the UGC NET were provided with the break between paper I and Paper II, but this year, no break will be provided, both papers will be conducted in a single session of three hours.  The exam that was conducted in December 2018 by NTA, Paper I was conducted in a one-hour session and after a break of 30 minutes paper, II was conducted in a two-hour session.

The UGC NET is conducted to test candidates’ eligibility for posts that are offered of Assistant Professor and/or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

The Exam will be a computer-based exam. The registration for the exam will begin on March 1, 2019, and will continue till March 30, 2019, at the official website, for which the link is given below:

The Admit Cards will be released on May 15, 2019.
