Monday, July 24, is booked by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to release a detailed notification for the National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) 2017. Aspiring candidates can check details of the exam from the official website of the CBSE NET. The exam is schedule to be conducted on November 5 this year and application for the same will begin from August 1 and shall go on till August 30. The UGC NET is generally conducted twice round the year – July and December, but this year, the July exam is postponed to November and is going to be conducted in 86 languages.

The exam was delayed due to the request of CBSE to step down as the conducting body as it is already responsible for conducting the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) and the Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT JEE) main. But recently, the CBSE has denied to follow the request and has confirmed that it will continue to be the conducting body.

To round up with the eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professorship at various government approved higher educational institutions in the country, candidates must clear UGC NET.
