The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath has announced that the state government is going to set up new medical colleges in 16 districts which do not have any such institute till now.

All this colleges will be established through the Public-private-partnership (PPP) mode within the next six months. This mode will enable the government to set up this colleges as per public interests.

UP government’s aim behind this step is to empower the medical and healthcare sector in the state by providing well-trained and capable doctors who can also serve as frontline workers at the time of pandemic.

CM Adityanath and his government envisions to make Uttar Pradesh as a national hub for medical education. And thus has planned to establish atleast one medical college in each district.

Currently, there are 59 districts in Uttar Pradesh which already has functional medical colleges. So in order to achieve the goal, remaining 16 districts will soon get a medical institute up and running.

The announcement regarding set up of new medical colleges in 16 districts was made by CM Adityanath in a press meet held during the inspection of Maharshi Devraha Baba Medical College in Deoria.

CM Adityanath in the press meet also said that all 75 districts of UP will have their own medical college very soon in the near future which will encourage the students to opt for quality education in higher classes.

Such facility will ensure that students of UP do not need to seek admissions in colleges of other states. All this colleges in UP will offer enough number of seats to meet the demands increasing each year.

It must be noted that UP government has recently inaugurated new medical institutes in 9 other districts which were Deoria, Etah, Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Hardoi, Jaunpur, Mirzapur, Pratapgarh, and Siddharthnagar.
