The UT Administration has framed a policy to provide education to disabled students. Policies include mapping, certification, providing education, arranging teachers, fund arrangements.
The Policies aim at bringing a positive outlook and upliftment in the lives of children with disabilities through education.
The Policy stated a checklist for class teachers be devised by govt. rehabilitation institute for intellectual disabilities in collaboration with the school education department to screen children with disabilities. The policy also stated a checklist for special educators, counselors are made to suggest educational steps based on the degree and severity of the disability.
The Policy stated that to help children with disabilities cope up with their mental age and chronological age in their learning process, need-based support services shall be provided by UT.
