A one day workshop was held on gender sensitivity at MNNIT, Allahabad on August 11. The chief guest for the occasion was Amitabha, DRM Allahabad. He discussed the aspects of Women safety in the organization. Along with that, he threw light on the numerous measures that can be implemented during such cases. Dr Anju Gupta, director NCWEB, Delhi University, was the keynote speaker for the workshop and urged the women present to be more aware of the ongoing in their vicinity, and speak out should the need arise. To the men in the audience, she asked to acknowledge the emotional, personal and behavioural dimension of working alongside women.

She addressed by appealing to the women to make the men aware of the proper conduct. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Rajeev Tripathi, director of the institute and also addressed the gatherings. He stressed the importance of self-discipline and proudly informed the audience that the institute had not witnessed a single case of harassment. Furthermore, he said that there was a need to understand the importance of equality and asked for cooperation to maintain a healthy environment all around.

Prof Vijaya Bhadauria, head of the ECE department in the institute and chief warden for the girls’ hostel, told about the institute’s initiative in organizing a two-week self-defence programme for the girls inside the institute campus that concluded on Saturday
