The World Konkani Center has decided to celebrate its 10th anniversary by giving a merit cum Scholarships worth Rs 3.5 crore among 2000 plus students belonging to Konkani Community at a function to be held at TV Raman Pai Convention Centre on 25 August.
The Scholarship is funded by Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship Fund (VKSSF).
Eligibility Criteria for VKSSF :
Only students belonging to Konkani community will be eligible to win the Scholarship Scheme offered by World Konkani Centre.
The scholarships will be awarded on 25th August 2019 during the celebration function which will be held at Raman Pai Convention Centre in Mangalore.
The Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship Fund (VKSSF) was setup by the corporate leader TV Mohandas Pai. Mr Pai raised and distributed over 22,000 Scholarships worth Rs 21.40 crores, during his active social life.
Engineering & MBBS Scholarship Scheme
VKSSF, currently offers several Scholarships for Konkani students and the chief among them being Engineering and MBBS Scholarships under which each eligible student is awarded Rs 40,000 and Rs 50,000 each year.
Engineering and MBBS scholarship scheme was launched in 2010 and since then over 4730 students have received Scholarships under it.
In 2019 VKSSF, is also expected to award Engineering Scholarship to 589 students while MBBS Scholarship will be awarded to 53 MBBS students.
VKSSF Study Abroad Scholarship
VKSSF also awards Scholarship to students willing to go to foreign countries for further studies. Under the VKSSF Study Abroad Scholarship Scheme, a total of Rs 1 lakh is awarded to per student every year.
