300 crore bollywood movies

Bollywood film industry has remade a lot of Hollywood movies. However, most of the remakes are just not the best remakes ever but there are certain movies which really did very well at the box office.

Here is the list of ten Bollywood remakes from the Hollywood movies and the list is as follows:

1.Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi: The movie ‘Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi’ is an Indian Hindi romantic comedy movie which is directed by Mahesh Bhatt and has been produced by Gulshan Kumar under the production company T-Series and Vishesh Films. The story of the movie has been written by Robin Bhatt and Sharad Joshi. The movie features Aamir Khan, Pooja Bhatt, Anupam Kher, Tiku Talsania in the lead. The movie which released on July 12, 1991.

The movie which is an adaptation of 1934 movie with a title ‘It Happened One Night’, which was made by the Frank Capra and the movie features Clark Gable and Claudette and Colbert. The movie marks as the first movie to win all the four big Oscars for the Best film, Besta actor, Best actress and even got an award for the Best Director. However, this movie is said to be the inspiration for the two successful Hindi movies. The first is the Solva Saal, which was made in 1958 featuring Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman and the second is the Chori Chori, which was made in the year 1956 featuring Raj Kapoor and Nargis. In the year 1991, the movie was actually remade by the director, Mahesh Bhatt. In the Bollywood remake, there were many scenes that were lifted and there are some of the dialogues which were literally translated into Hindi. However, the good thing is that the scenes were lifted in an Indianised way and they have worked in a very good way and impressed the audience and the good thing is that the movie still holds up today.

2. Baazigar: An Indian crime thriller movie which was directed by the director Abbas-Mustan and has been produced by Ganesh Jain. The movie which got released on November 12, 1993. The story of the movie which was written by Robin Bhatt, Akash Khurana, and Javed Siddiqui. The movie features Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Shilpa Shetty, Rakhee Gulzar, and Shilpa Shetty. The music in the movie has been given by Anu Malik.

The movie ‘Baazigar’ is one of the movies which was made better than the original. However, the movie is a version of the 1956 movie titled Hart To Hart, which was directed by Robert Wagner and in the year 1991 there came the remake with the Matt Dillon and Sean Young in the double role. However, the role of Sean Young was earlier supposed to be played by the Sridevi. But, later the director, Abbas Mustan thought that the audience will never accept Shah Rukh Khan killing their favorite actress Sridevi. Hence the two new girls Shilpa Shetty and Kajol did the role.

3.Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke: The movie ‘Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke’ which is an Indian romantic-comedy drama movie. The movie has been directed by Mahesh Bhatt and has been produced, Tahir Hussain. The movie features Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla in the lead. The music in the movie has been given by Nadeem-Shravan. The movie which got released on July 23, 1993. However, the making of the movie with a titled Houseboat, which came in the year 1958 and the movie was a quite a big task for the makers along with the entire Cary Grant-Sophia Loren and the things are going on and when the movie got released it was a romantic comedy. Again the director Mahesh Bhatt remade the movie with a title ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke’ and the movie feature Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla in the lead and the movie become one of the biggest hits together till then the movie Quamat Se Quamat Tak came.

However, the plot of the movie is same as the movies Mr, India, and Masoom and the great thing is that the movie was on the three kids who grew up to become known at least two of them did it. The movie is not better than the original movie but it is worth a look.

4. Satte Pe Satta: The movie ‘Satte Pe Satta’ which is said to be a Hindi action comedy movie and the movie got released in 1982. The movie features Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Ranjeeta Kaur, Amjad Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Sachin, Paintal, Sudhir and much more in the lead. The music in the movie has been given by R.D Burman and Gulshan Bawra. However, the movie ‘Satta Pe Satta’ is not exactly a remake as such. The movie is more inspired by the Raj N. Sippy made most of his movie either with an actor Vinod Khanna, Mithun Chakraborty or along with an actor Sanjay Dutt. The funny thing is that as the director he gave the biggest hit along with The Mighty Bachchan and as we have mentioned earlier that the movie is not a remake but it is inspired by the seven brides for the seven brothers.

5. Jo Jeetha Wohi Sikander: The movie ‘Jo Jeetha Wohi Sikander’ is a 1992 movie which is based on an Indian sports drama movie. The movie has been directed by Mansoor Khan and the movie has been written by Nasir Hussain. The movie features Aamir Khan, Ayesha Jhulka, Deepak Tijori, Mamik Singh, Pooja Bedi, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in the lead. The music in the movie has been given by Jatin-Lalit. The movie got released on May 22, 1992. Whenever we think about this movie the very first thing that came to my mind is the song with a title ‘Phela Nasha’ and that red dress of Pooja Bedi or there is a dialogue ‘Change the gear Sanju’. This movie has passed the test of the time and still, this movie is very fresh as it was when the movie first came out.

However, the movie is inspired by the two movies the first one which is the Kevin Costner film American Flyers which got released in the  year 1985 and the 1979 movie with a title ‘Breaking Away’ and at that time makers of the movie did not even imagine that the cycle race would be an that classic. The movie ‘Jo Jeetha Wohi Sikander’ is amongst the top five remakes which were made in India for sure.

6.Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha:  The movie ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’ which is an Indian Hindi romantic comedy movie film which was directed by Anees Bazmee and has been produced by the Gordhan Tanwani and the story of the movie has been written by Annes Bazmee by himself. The movie features Ajay Devgn and Kajol in the lead. The music in the movie has been given by Jatin Lalit. The movie which got released on July 24, 1998.

The movie which was directed by the Annes Baazmee is undoubtedly the best film till date and both the Ajay Devgn and Kajol’s best movie they have done together. However, the movie is said to be a romantic comedy and it is said to be the remake of the romantic comedy movie with a title ‘French Kiss’ which were made in 1995 and the movie features Kevin and Meg Ryan in the lead. The music in the movie has really helped the movie as well. The movie is based on the nice comedy, good drama and moreover, it is a  fun love story.

7. Awara Paagal Deewana: The movie ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’ is an Indian Hindi action comedy movie which released on June 21, 2002. The movie which was directed by Vikram Bhatt and has been produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwala and the story of the movie has been written by Neeraj Vora. The movie features Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Aftab Shivdasani,  Paresh Rawal, Preeti Jhangiani, Aarti Chhabria, and Amrita Arora.Again this movie is a proof that the remake is much better than the original and this is something very rare. The movie is said to be a remake of the 2000 movie with a title ‘The Whole Nine Yard’ and that movie had Bruce Willis and Mathew Perry in the lead along with the Amanda Peet and that went on the top with this movie. However, the movie ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’ has a huge cast but every single person played their role in a very good way. Thought the movies which such a big stars but the whole of the movie belong to the Paresh Rawal and if he would not be there in the movie then the movie would not be half as good.

8. Partner: The movie Partner which got released on July 20, 2007. The movie is said to be an Indian romantic comedy film and the movie has been directed by David Dhawan and has been produced by Sohail Khan, David Dhawan, and Yunus Sajawal and they produced the movie under the production house of Sohail Khan Production. The movie features Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Govinda,  and Lara Dutta in the lead. The music in the movie has been given by Sajid-Wajid. However, this movie is an another Indianized version of the Hollywood hit movie with a title ‘Hitch’ and the movie features Will Smith in the lead and it gets a makeover. However, the movie which was directed by David Dhawan but it is laugh riot movie. What else can be expected when the actor Govinda and Salman Khan is in the lead and that too in the same movie.

9. Baghban: The movie ‘Baghban’ which was an Indian Hindi Drama film and the movie was directed by Ravi Chopra and has been produced by B.R Chopra. The story of the movie has been written by B. R. Chopra, Achala Nagar, Satish Bhatnagar, Ram Govind, and Shafiq Ansari. The movie features Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Hema Malini, Aman Verma,  Samir Soni, Mahima Chaudhry, Paresh Rawal, Rimi Sen, Lilette Dubey, Asrani. The movie which got released on October 3, 2003. The movie which is based on the story of the elderly couple and they had a wish that their children would take care of them in their old age but their children see and treat them like a burden and they must struggle to regain their worth and the dignity to themselves and others.

There were many who said that the movie ‘Baaghban’ was a remake of the 1985 movie ‘Avtaar’, which features Rajesh Khanna, Shabana Azmi, and  Sachin in the lead. However, the makers of the movie said that these reports are not true. The main plotline in the movie Baaghban was revolved around their kids which separate their parents and that did not happen in the movie ‘Avtaar’ and that movie was a more kind of a remake form Suntan, which features Jeetendra and Rekha in the lead. If the movie Baagban is the remake of an Indian Film than it would have to be Zindagi which is a 1976 movie featuring Sanjeev and Kumar-Mala Sinha in the lead. But all these movies including ‘Baaghban are a remake of the 1937 film with a title ‘Make Way For Tomorrow’ and the only difference in that movie was when Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini meet at the railway station and they spend the day together and then they decide to stay together only and then they faced the problems just as in the Hollywood version they spent the day together and then they have to separate again and according to teh plot father has to revolve with one son and the mother is going to live with the others son.

10. Ittefaq: The movie ‘Ittefaq’ which gt released in the year 1969 and the movie is said to be the crime, mystery thriller movie. The movie has been directed by Yash Chopra and produced by the B.R Chopra and the story of the movie has been written by G.R Kamath. The movie features Rajesh Khanna, Nanda, and Iftekhar. At that time Yash Chopra is making the movie ‘Aadmi’ aur Insaan with an actor Dharmendra, Feroz Khan and Saira Banu in the lead. But for that, they have to wait for the couple of months for Saira Banu because she got hospitalized so he and his brother B.R Chopra decided that to make the movie quickly and that becomes this film ‘Ittefaq’ along with the Rajesh Khanna and Nanda came on the board and the movie was a good thriller and the movie does not have song. But this movie was actually the remake of a little-seen British thriller Signpost To Murder, which hot released in the year 1965.
