The renowned Bollywood blockbuster 2 States is going to come up with a Telugu remake very soon, as officially announced on Tuesday. The romantic duo in the movie played by Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor will be essayed by actor Adivi Sesh and Shivani who is the daughter of veteran actor Rajasekhar.

The original movie was an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller novel of the same name that was released on silver screen in April, 2014. The movie received mass appreciation and paved the way for Alia and Arjun’s bright Bollywood careers. Since this remake is going to mark the debut of Shivani, we hope it garners the same kind of positive response from the audiences.

Shivani, who was speculated to debut with Prabhu Solomon’s Kumki 2 will finally be making her debut with this untitled movie which is being made under the banner of Lakshya Productions and will be directed by debutant Venkat Reddy who has assisted director VV Vinayak in his past venture. The music department will be handled by composer Anup Rubens. The rest of the cast and crew haven’t been revealed yet.

Adivi Sesh who is essaying the lead role in the movie is known for his 2016 crime drama, Kshanam that went on to be a big hit at the box office and was also remade in Tamil under the name Sathya. His last onscreen presence was in the movie Ami Thumi which was also loved by the audiences and well received by the critics.

Shivani who is debuting with the movie is also a trained Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dancer and is also well versed with the knowledge of musical instruments such as keyboard, guitar and veena. Despite being so skilled in a varied number of fields, her interest has always lied in the world of showbiz and her preparation will soon be presented in front of the audiences. She was reportedly moved by the “beautiful script” and therefore agreed on entering the film industry with this movie.

Since the Bollywood version of the movie was so deeply loved, it will be interesting to see how the Telugu version performs at the box office.
