Exploring the streets and underbelly of the Mumbai city, ‘Aamir’ is a thriller where a doctor flies in from London to visit his home only to find out that his family is missing. Imagine a man happily waiting to reunite with his family after years but just outside the airport, a stranger hands him a phone and he finds out his family is being kidnapped. Yes! It could happen to anyone. Aamir (Rajeev Khandelwal) helplessly redirects himself as guided by the unknown man on the phone call.

Now, a task is to be accomplished as Aamir finds himself trapped in bizarre orders by an unknown man. Shot on real locations, cinematography by Alphonse Roy adds the feel with extreme close-ups and wide shots accessing the viewers a look at the underbelly of the dream city. It’s on spot, that the fourth wall is broken as it’s only Aamir who confronts the viewer mostly as if he needs an answer or wants to decide on what should be his next move.

Director Raj Kumar Gupta’s debut film can be considered as one of the best directorial debuts till the date. Rajeev Khandelwal as Aamir drives you to the story and as a viewer, you become the next person advising him. Not a Homecoming!
