The audience is slowly going back to theatres although not in big numbers. Diljit Dosanjh, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Manoj Bajpayee’s Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari is the new film in theatres. It was released on November 15 and is the first major Bollywood film to release post the lockdown.

Lending support to it, Superstar Aamir Khan recently went to watch the film at a Mumbai Multiplex with his daughter, Ira Khan. After watching the film, Aamir praised it and urged the audience to go to theatres to watch the film.

In a statement he said :

“We’ve been watching films on laptops for a long time since the lockdown and this big-screen experience is so heartening. People have been praising the film, Diljit and Manoj are both being praised a lot. I wish the very best to the entire team and to all theatres who’ve opened up.”

The film industry has seen a tough time ever since the pandemic came. Theatres were shut for more than 5 months and the business of major films was badly hit. Many big films are released on OTT platforms, causing concerns for the exhibitors.

A superstar like Aamir going to the theatre, to watch a film is certainly going to influence people and make them want to go to the theatres.

Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari is set in the ’90s and is about a wedding detective on a hunt that turns into a chase. It is a comedy and the director, Abhishek Sharma has directed it.

The film also features actors such as Annu Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa, Seema Pahwa, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Nehha Pendse, Manuj Sharma, Neeraj Sood, Abhishek Banerjee, Vijay Raaz, Karishma Tanna, and Vanshikha Sharma.

Apart from it Rohan Gera’s festival film, Sir starring Tillotama Shome is the other film running in theatres.
