Abhishek Bachchan might play cop in Hindi adaptation of French film ‘Nuit Blanche’

Director of movies like ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, ‘Simran’, and ‘Aligarh’ Shailesh R. Singh has acquired the rights of the French thriller film ‘Nuit Blanche’. According to the reports making round in the Bollywood alley Abhishek Bachchan has been approached to play the lead role in the movie by the filmmaker.

A source close to the development revealed that Singh does have the rights of the movie, which he wishes to turn into a Hindi feature film. The film is based on a police detective who robs drugs and finds out that it belong to nightclub owner and drug dealer. Junior Bachchan fits in the role as he has played the role of a cop earlier in Dhoom franchise, commented the source.

However, an official announce of the same is awaited, meanwhile, there are rumors that Saif Ali Khan was also being considered for the role.

The French film is directed and co-written by Frédéric Jardin. It premiered in 2011 at the Toronto International Film Festival and has received positive reviews from critics. It was also shown at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival.

The film was huge success at the Box office and became the 15th highest-grossing film in France on its opening week. The English meaning of the French title ‘Nuit Blanche’ is “Sleepless Night”.
