Abhishek Bachchan to make his digital debut with season 2 of Amazon Prime Video’s original ‘Breathe’

Abhishek Bachchan is all set to make his digital debut with the second season of ‘Breathe’. It is an Amazon Prime Video’s original series and Bachchan will be seen playing the lead role in the show. The actor had confirmed the news himself in an interview.

Abhishek is just taking further, a trend which is already set. The actor said that streaming services are currently the most “buzzing medium” and Bollywood couldn’t agree more as most of the actors are currently busy in some web series.

The 42-year-old actor said, “In Breathe, one of the things that attracted me the most to the story was the details and nuances that were built into the character I play. This is possible in the streaming medium since the time to engage with the audience is nearly four times that of a conventional feature film.”

Talking about saying yes to the director, he said, “To me, the story and the vision of the director are the two most important things before I commit to a project. If these two are in place, there are no doubts.”

He further added, “It clearly is the most buzzing medium for now! However, in my opinion, instead of being an alternative, streaming will be a welcome addition to the multiple ways in which audiences’ consumer content. And it will be big.”

The first season was successful and R Madhavan played the lead character in it. This season is created by Abundantia Entertainment and directed by Mayank Sharma who also directed the first one. Bhavani Iyer,  Vikram Tuli, Arshad Syed, and Mayank are the writers of the show.

Abhishek’s character has not been revealed yet while Amit Sadh will play the role of senior inspector Kabir Sawant again.
