The trailer launch of director, Anurag Basu’s film, Ludo was one, which had stars coming together. The best of the best from Bollywood is a part of the ensemble. Abhishek Bachchan is one of the actors, who is a part of the film. At the trailer launch, he talked about his working experience in the film.
Abhishek revealed that working on the film was like giving one’s life reins into someone else’s hands and trusting them to take care of it.
The director, Anurag Basu is a director, who is famous for not briefing much about the script to his actors. This point was emphasized by Abhishek. The actor said that he didn’t know anything about the film, except for its director.
Sounds strange, isn’t it? Well, this is how Anurag Basu works. For Abhishek, it was a surprise and a fresh take on filmmaking. He even didn’t know, who his fellow cast members were until he went to the sets.
Apart from Abhishek the film also stars, Pankaj Tripathi, Rajkummar Rao, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Shalini Vats, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rohit Saraf, Inayat Verma, and Asha Negi.
An actor usually feels pressure to get everything right on set, even after being in the industry for 20 years, like Abhishek. However, it didn’t happen for him, while shooting for Ludo. Basu’s instinctive style of shooting, made him feel free.
Further speaking on this, the actor said :
“We have become a bit too manufactured today. Not that it’s a bad thing, but it’s nice once in a while to throw caution to the wind and take that leap of faith. That’s why I loved working with you (Basu). I could just show up and there was no pressure in that sense.”
Ludo will soon come out on Netflix. While Abhishek was last seen in Amazon Prime’s Breathe: Into The Shadows.
