Almost About a month ago, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma had put his next venture with Abhishek Bachchan on hold due to Amit Sadh. As the filmmaker was keen on working with Amit in a horror flick and had decided to put Abhishek’s ‘Arrest’ on hold for some time.
As per the sources, the film is modelled on former encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma. Ram Gopal Varma says ‘Arrest’ is not based on any real life cop. The film is not based on anyone’s life, it is completely a fictional story. It is something related to the cops. It partly has a connection to the underworld but the story is set in today’s times, the issues are different today. Also, apparently, Huma Qureshi has been approached to play the female lead who is still considering the same. If all goes well, this will be the first time where Huma and Abhishek will be paired opposite each other. Nothing has been confirm yet.
Now the interesting thing is Ram Gopal Varma’s next will be ‘Arrest’ and not the horror flick. This change is due to Amitabh Bachchan’s intervention. Big B asked Ram Gopal Varma to give Arrest the first priority and he has readily agreed.
‘Arrest’ is slated to go on floor on April 10, even before Abhishek Bachchan kick starts his other film with Prabhu Deva, ‘Lefty‘. It will be a non-stop shoot schedule in Mumbai as Ram Gopal Varma is looking forward to release the film by the end of 2017.
