Last week’s release, political drama ‘The Accidental Prime Minister‘ got clearance from Pakistan censor board and it will be released beyond borders on January 18. The Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna starrer is also set to release in Tamil and Telugu on the same date.
The producer Jayantilal Gada said in a statement, “PEN Studios is happy to announce that our one-of-a-kind political film, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’, has got a green signal from our neighboring country, Pakistan. Pakistani moviegoers will be able to enjoy the film as it is set to release there.”
He added, “I always admired Imran Khan as a brave cricketer, and now I respect him as a Prime Minister, too. I’m also thankful to Pakistan’s Censor Board chairman for approving our film.”
The film based on Sanjaya Baru‘s book, with the same name, which released in 2014. It features Anupam Kher as the former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh and Akshaye Khanna as his media advisor and the book writer Sanjaya Baru.

The Film is based on the controversial family of the nation The Gandhians who according to Sanjaya Baru, rules the nation.
The film also features Suzanne Bernert as Sonia Gandhi, the former president of Indian National Congress, Aahana Kumra as Priyanka Gandhi, Arjun Mathur as Rahul Gandhi, present president of Indian National Congress, Divya Seth Shah as Manmohan Singh’s wife Gursharan Kaur, Abdul Qadir Amin as Ajay Singh, Vimal Verma as Lalu Prasad Yadav, Ajit Satbhai as P. V. Narasimha Rao, former PM of India, and others.
