Much anticipated Vijay Ratnakar Gutte’s ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ opened to mixed reviews this Friday and most of the people are reviewing it according to their political beliefs. Some are calling it fake propaganda while others are looking at it as the realistic depiction of the Congress party and its officials.
The film is based on Sanjaya Baru‘s book by the same name, which was released in 2014. The book also landed into controversy with its release and the film’s trailer also opened the can of worms. The political storm was created with its trailer launch, a lawyer in Bihar even filed a petition against the actors for defaming the personalities they are playing.
Amidst all of it, the unbiased audience is loving the Anupam Kher‘s Manmohan Singh portrayal and Akshaye Khanna in Sanjaya Baru’s shoes. The Internet is currently streaming with the audience’s review of the film, good or bad.
There are some who genuinely loved Kher’s part.

#AccidentalPrimeMinister has to be one of the best of @AnupamPKher jis career. He has done a terrific job as Manmohan Singh.
Akshay Khanna steals the show as Sanjay https://t.co/9fNMxpteAu good to see him after a long time. The one who played Rahul Gandhi is also terrific!!— imKushal (@WaniKushal) January 11, 2019
#AccidentalPrimeMinister is anchored by rock- solid performances by @AnupamPKher and #AkshayeKhanna. I can't imagine a better tribute to Mr Mamohan Singh's imperturbable personality . Well intended and filled with durbari intrigue @ashokepandit

But for some, the film was not very convincing and they even found it misleading.
The absolute worst c grade film, created by corrupt crooks and c grade actors based on fiction and misleading anecdotes by a failed disgruntled media advisor..!#AccidentalPrimeMinister

Dr. @_ManmohanSingh was an Educated & Successful PM. Not an "accidental" PM. #AccidentalPrimeMinister

#AccidentalPrimeMinister @AnupamPKher tried to caricature Manmohan Singh but has himself become a caricature. The humility and humbleness of Mr Singh came from his knowledge. An ignoramus obviously cannot understand that self-effacing characteristic of a knowledgeable person.

Two very strong performances make #AccidentalPrimeMinister a must see film. Akshaye Khanna and Anupam Kher. Anupam creates Manmohan Singh as a man who seems weak but carries great strength inside. Yet ultimately finds that principles and politics do not go together @AnupamPKher
