When you are a lot older than your health does not recuperate as fast and easily as when you were young. Veteran Bengali actor, Soumitra Chatterjee can vouchsafe for this statement. Even though he is fine, his condition worsened a little on Tuesday.
As per the private hospital in Kolkata, where he currently is, his neurological condition got a little worse. On the other hand, his other health parameters are in a good condition.
An MRI was done on him, which did not show any structural abnormalities. After he was taken off steroid treatment, his condition got worse because of COVID encephalopathy.
While speaking to reporters about the veteran actor’s health, an attending doctor said —
“The only problem is Covid encephalopathy which is sub-normal. After another couple of days of being administered steroids, he will bounce back to improvement. We are considering other options to bring back his consciousness to an earlier level.”
The good news is that the actor has not developed any new complication and is free from fever. A few days ago, he contracted COVID-19 because of which, he had to be hospitalized.
Soumita Chatterjee is a legend and is known for working with legendary directors such as Satyajit Ray, Mrinal Sen, Tapan Sinha, and Tarun Mazumdar.
