Workshops needed for film distributors too: Adil Hussain!

An Indian television actor Adil Hussain says that the workshops are very important and it is much needed for the makers of the movie. He says that at the time of promoting and distributing the content-driven movies there are many distributors in India that too needs workshops.

However, he believes that most of the content driven movies without any big face do not get much help from the distributors. Recently, he was present at the Mukti Bhawan and he says that the movie which has been set in Varanasi and they are dealing with the individuals and they are looking for the salvation after death.

Adil strongly feels that distributors do need workshops he says that look at the movie ‘Sairat’ no one knew both of the actors before. The movie was made on a budget of Rs 4 crore and the movie has earned a sum of Rs 100 crore and he believes that it is the best business model one can have. The distributors know everything and they have witnessed everything still they do not try to understand.

He says that everyone wants a good movie to earn a good money but he says what is the benefit if the makers of the movie are spending 50- 100 crore on a movie and it is a flop. He feels that it is such a bad business model. Everyone is that much intelligent enough to see that this will not be going to work anymore in the future. All they need is a workshop if they want their movies to earn a good money.

As far as the contemporary sentiments are concerned then the content is the hero and Adil says that would be the ideal situation. He believes that the content is not a hero and if it is then he says that it is an ideal situation it is happening a lot but that is like a drop in the ocean. Most of the distributors these days want a big name and they are least bother that what is the content in the movie then after this how can someone says that the content is the hero.

Moreover, he says that if the content is great and if the director makes a choice that he wants to replace the actor and wanted to put another actor even at that time he was having no choice but to put that big face because the directors would not be really interested in buying the movie. With the big names, he means that those who really have spent a lot of money on their PR. He says that it is all a game if someone really wants to be in the news then he/ she has to give Rs 1 lakh per month to the PR agencies so that they will always be in the news and that too on the first page.

He says if the actor is in the news that the producers have hired them and even then if the movie flops you are still in the news. However, he feels that he does not follow this principle if you are really newsworthy then you should be in the news and if someone is newsworthy but still they are not in the news then he feels that there is something wrong with the news agencies.

On the work front, Adil is gearing up for his upcoming movie ‘2.0’ and along with this, he will also be seen in the movie ‘Aiyaary’, which is being helmed by Neeraj Pandey. The movie ‘Aiyaary’ will release on 26 January 2018.
